The Member representing Oredo West Constituency who doubles as the Chairman on Health Committee in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Osaro Edosa has revealed that out of 500 Health Care Centers across the state, 250 centers have been earmarked to be revamped , equip with facilities and Manpower in the first phase of the project.
Hon Edosa who is the only Labour Party member in the house stressed that his concern in the house is to work in collaboration with other Lawmakers to ensure Edo People receive the dividends of democracy.
He stated this while chatting with some Newsmen in his office in Benin City.
” This is my first time as a member representing my Constituency . I am not seeing myself as an opposition but a lawmaker who is here to work in unity with other Lawmakers to achieve the aim of legislative business as stated by the constitution”.
” As the Chairman on health Committee, I have discovered that we have over 500 Health Care Centers that lack equipment and manpower. This we have mapped out to tackle in the first phase of our work. Over 250 health care centers will be revamped, Equip with facilities and Manpower that will make the centers function effectively”.
The medical Doctor cum Lawmaker who said his experience as a doctor has position him to know what the health centers need to function effectively stressed that inline with his campaign promises to his Constituency, he has facilitated an eye surgery for members of his constituents.
Hon Osaro stressed that the caliber of Lawmakers in the Edo State House of Assembly are all vibrant and active members who have initiated over 26 bills that are currently in different stages of passage.
” On security, we have initiated a bill that is capable of ending Kidnapping and food shortage as we realized most of our farmers have stopped going to farm because of kidnappers “
On the deplorable federal roads in Edo State, Hon. Edosa noted that FEMA was invited to the house and they assured the Lawmakers of providing palliatives on the roads pending when the rains are over .
He added that a taskforce will be set up to monitor the palliatives on the road as Edo People do not deserve to suffer unnecessarily when they are paying their taxes.
