Leadership and Members of Edo State Labour Party has protested against the just concluded Local Government election held on 2nd September 2023, alleging EDSIEC in connivance with People Democratic Party denied the People their right to vote.
Addressing members of Nigeria Union of Journalists at the conference hall of the Union secretariat, The Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi noted that the election was marred with violence, non availability of EDSIEC Staff and Voting materials in the various units.
“We are here to express our dissatisfaction over the just concluded election, the whole process was offensive , barbaric and dangerous to democracy and against good conscience , equity and natural justice”.
Speaking further, he said EDSIEC has refused to provide the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the election result that was declared which has limited the party from accessing Tribunal for Justice.
He further added that EDSIEC should withdraw the certificate of return issued to the PDP Candidates
Efforts made to reach the EDSIEC Chairman proved abortive,
