The Omo N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo ,Oba Ewuare 11, Oba of Benin has called on members of Edo Forum to always provide the necessary support to the Palace of Benin kingdom.
Oba Ewuare 11 who made this call while addressing the Edo Forum Lagos who were in the palace to pay homage to the Royal Majesty recently in Benin City, said , those who want to help might not necessarily come from Benin but must be from Edo land.
According to the Oba, the former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole was not a Benin Man, but contributed enormously to the development of the Palace and Edo State.
He commended the Executive and members of Edo forum Lagos for representing Edo people in a good light outside Edo State and charged the group to join hands with the palace to ensure the sustenance of peace in the kingdom.
He however availed the opportunity to invite members of Edo Forum to grace his investiture as Chief of the Federal Republic (CFR) award ceremony coming up in Abuja and also to participate in his coronation anniversary .
Speaking, the National President of Edo Forum Lagos, Chief Francis Aghedo who explained to Oba Euare 11 how His Royal Majesty, Oba Erediawa spearheaded the establishment of Edo Forum in Lagos in the year 2015.
According to him, the Oba is the grand patron of Edo Forum Lagos which is made up of 2 representatives from clubs managed by Edo indigenes in Lagos that were nominated to foster unity and create a forum where Edo people in Lagos could address common challenges and promote unity and solidarity amongst themselves.
He expressed gratitude to the Oba for promoting Peace, tranquility in the land, revocation of CDAs which has reduced instances of land grabbing in the state, the recovery of stolen Benin Artifacts across the globe back to the kingdom, resolving the lingering Egbokor community Energy crisis in Orhionmwon local government area and recommending Benin Sons and daughters to enviable positions in the country.
Chief Francis Aghedo however assured the Oba that the Edo Form Lagos would do everything within his reach to revive the essence of the club as long as the palace is ready to play the fatherly role to the group.
Present at the visit to the palace, were the President of Edo Forum Lagos, Chief Francis Aghedo , Vice Chairman,Engr. Joseph Ajayi, Erhummwuse, Secretary , Sir, Nosa Ehigiator (KSM), the Osaivvbie of Benin, Chief Sunny Ogbeide, Exco member, Chief {Barr.} Robert Ohuoba , Exco member , Prince Jimoh Aigbe, Dr. Kunle Solana, Exco members Deacon Paul Ehigie, Edo Golden club of Nigeria, Elite Club of Lagos, Osarugue Club of Lagos, Edo Elite Club, lagos, Club 296,Lagos, Cowrie Club of Lagos, Out-Umagbae Club, Lagos, Out Ogbakha, Lagos, Edoma Club, lagos, Alghhodaro Club, Lagos and Ivie Sisters Club respectively.
