As the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) , Edo State Council prepares for another election, the Edo State Broadcasting Service,EBS Chapel has collectively purchase the Chairmanship nomination form for Comrade Festus Alenkhe.
Presenting the nomination form at the conference hall of Edo NUJ , Comrade Josephine ,Erhinmwinhe Chairman of the Chapel said that Comrade Festus Alenkhe had made the chapel proud with his outstanding performance as Chairman of NUJ in the past three years.
According to her, the chapel is very proud of his activities and has unanimously agreed to pay for his nomination form to re-elect him as the Chairman of the Union to enable him further advance the development in Edo NUJ.
Comrade Festus Alenkhe in his response appreciated the gesture and assured leaders and members of the chapel of his commitment to advance the development in Edo NUJ.
He read out his manifesto to members of the union and noted that he and his Executive members have been able to accomplished all that he promised journalists in Edo State prior before his assumption into office.
Speaking at the event, Members of the union took their turns to reaffirm their support to the re election of Festus Alenkhe as Chairman of the union.
The Aspirant vying for National Deputy President in the forthcoming election of Nigeria Union of Journalists at the national level, Dr Abimbola Oyetunde described Comrade Alenkhe as a humble, hardworking and a go-getter.
According to her, Alenkhe has made Edo NUJ a point of reference in the 36 council across Nigeria.
She stressed that Alenkhe is a national material that after his second tenure, will be in the national space.
Speaking also, Comrade Edosa Okunbor who said despite being in the opposition during his first election has resolved to throw his support behind Festus Alenkhe re-election as Chairman of Edo NUJ due to his sterling performance in the past three years.
On his part, Comrade Alliu Ozerua also reaffirms his support to Festus Alenkhe and noted that he has done very well to reposition the state council and as such needs all the necessary support.
He further said that Alenkhe has made all Journalists in the state proud as friends of Journalists usually commends the face-lift of the State Secretariat.
Others also reaffirms their support and pledge to ensure he is voted in for the second time as Chairman of NUJ.
