As the Edo NUJ political atmosphere gets electrified ahead of the Union’s election , the NUJ Chairman, Dr Festus Alenkhe has inaugurated his campaign team to visit the 15 Chapels that made up the Union to seek for the support of Journalists in Edo State.
The campaign inauguration which took place at the conference hall of NUJ in Benin City name, Comrade Efosa Uwangue as the Coordinator while Eben Enasco as the Director General and Mercy Onyenweli as the Secretary respectively.
Hon. Bisi Olabisi of Daar Communication is to serve as an adviser to the campaign team while Edosa Okunbor will also serve as an adviser with comrade Habiba Sam, Member, Israel Adebiyi, member, Kehinde Osagiede Member, Kadiri Christopher, Member , Queeneth Airueghiomo member, Ehis Aghadagodo, member and Daniel Ehimeri with the mandate to mobilize support and vote for Dr Festus Alenkhe’s re election.
Dr. Festus Alenkhe officially decorated members of the campaign team with the Festus Alenkhe’s face cap .
Speaking on Dr. Festus Alenkhe,’s achievement in the past three years, Members of the campaign team took their turns to express confidence and assured of victory due to his outstanding performance as chairman of NUJ.
In a similar vein, the campaign team Stormed Edo Broadcasting Service Chapel (EBS) with their Candidate, Dr. Festus Alenkhe as the first chapel to officially visit, shortly after the inauguration.
The campaign team was warmly received by leadership and members of the chapel describing Dr Festus Alenkhe as the ‘Star Boy’ who has made the chapel proud in his first tenure.
The campaign director general, Comrade Eben Enasco said despite EBS being the Candidate’s chapel, the campaign team deemed it necessary to commence the campaign in it’s chapel to show that he is dancing right from his house.
According to him, Dr Festus Alenkhe is a sellable material that has made the job of the campaign team easier with his performance in office.
The General Manager, Mrs Racheal Oboyo Assured the campaign team of the total support of workers from EBS.
She said that Victory is sure for Dr.Alenkhe as his Chapel is fully behind him.
On her part, the Chairman of EBS chapel, Comrade Josephine Erhinmwinhe welcomed the campaign team and said the chapel is giving Festus Alenkhe 100% vote.
She added that Festus has not disappointed them in the first tenure,so the Chapel has thrown their total support behind him.
Speaking the NUJ Chairman, Dr. Festus Alenkhe appreciated leaders and members of his Chapel for standing behind him at all times.
He assured the Chapel that his second tenure bid is to advance what he started in his first tenure.
“My reason for coming for the second time is to complete what I have in mind to do in Edo NUJ, that is why am requesting that you support me and you will not be disappointed “. He said.
