The Chairman of Edo State NUJ , Comrade Festus Alenkhe has called on Muslim Faithfuls to pray for peace, security and unity of Nigeria.
Comrade Festus Alenkhe stated this in a Press statement signed and made available to Newsmen while felicitating with the Muslim Faithfuls in Eld el- Fitr celebration in Benin City.
Comrade Festus described the celebration as historic and one that renews the faith of believers in lslam.
” Ramadan is one of the five pillars of lslam and Eid-el-Fitr is significant in celebrating the end of a very intense month of fasting, prayer , self reflection and charity”.
Speaking further,he commended the Muslim for holding onto the fasting and ensuring that the Muslim tenets are adhered to during the period.
He however stressed that the development of Edo State remains sacrosanct and urged Muslims to sustain the prayers for the State Government to achieve it’s mandate.
The statement further called for a sustained peaceful co-existence between christians , Muslims and other religions in the state in order to acquire the desired development .
