The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing policies aimed at eradicating poverty and improving the living conditions of citizens.

In a statement marking the 2025 International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, Senator Imasuen said he would continue to champion legislative actions that promote fair wages, affordable essentials, and equal opportunities for all Nigerians.

“As your lawmaker, I will continue to fight for fair wages, affordable essentials, and equal opportunities for all,” he declared.

He emphasised his vision for an Edo South where no one goes hungry and every resident lives with dignity. “True progress lies not only in economic growth, but in ensuring dignity, opportunity, and equity for every citizen,” the senator added.

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, observed annually on 17 October, was first marked in 1987 and officially recognised by the United Nations in 1992. The day honours victims of poverty, hunger, and violence, and underscores the global call for justice, equality, and respect for human rights.
