Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party primaries, the Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Immasuen, has appealed to his constituents to support his bid for re-election.

Immasuen urged party members and constituents to consider the projects and empowerment initiatives he has facilitated in Edo South despite what he described as low budget performance in 2024 and 2025.

The senator said that in spite of the court battles he faced during his first year in office, he was able to carry out several empowerment programmes aimed at improving the lives of people across the district.

Immasuen, who emphasized his commitment to human development, listed a number of initiatives he has undertaken to improve the well-being of his constituents and position them for greater opportunities.

According to him, his interventions include the sponsorship of a football competition across the seven local government areas in Edo South, as well as an annual football tournament at the Faculty of Law of University of Benin.

He also highlighted other programmes such as the training of traditional birth attendants, agricultural training for farmers, distribution of seedlings and farming tools, and leadership training for about 315 youths in the district.

The senator further noted that his office has facilitated the installation of streetlights in several communities and supported road construction projects to complement the efforts of the Edo State Government.

Speaking with journalists in Benin City on Sunday, Immasuen said his passion for human development has driven him to address issues that are critical to the growth and advancement of people in the district.

He also revealed that some players who represented Edo State at the recently concluded football tournament organized by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) were discovered through the competition he sponsored.

“This is something I have been doing both in my personal capacity and as a senator. I want to see the youths in my constituency grow into men and women of great status,” he said.

Immasuen added that if he secures the APC ticket and is re-elected, he would leverage his experience and seniority to attract more developmental projects to the district.

“As a ranking or two-term senator, I will be in a better position to attract more opportunities and development to my constituency compared to a first-time senator,” he said.

He therefore appealed to party leaders and members across Edo South Senatorial District to support his re-election bid in order to sustain the development efforts already underway.

The lawmaker also commended the economic policies of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the infrastructural development drive of Monday Okpebholo.

According to him, he is ready to complement their efforts and continue supporting the administration, including the president’s re-election bid.

In a similar development Eghoba 95 set presented an Award of “Excellence in Leadership”in recognition of his immense contributions in the advancement of Edo South Senatorial District.
