The Edo State Chairman of IPMAN, Alhaji Abdulhamid Saliu has called on Edo People not to panic over the yesterday price of #617 Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) as announced by NNPCL in Abuja as the market price is occasioned by Market Forces.

Alhaji Abdulhamid who spoke with The Crusaders Voice in Benin explained that the prices of PMS are no longer determined by the federal government as Petroleum products had been deregulated like DPK and AGO.

He stressed that prices are now determined by Market Force, where it is higher at sometimes and lower at other times.

He further said , the #617 is for NNPCL retail outlets in the Country as Independent Marketers would also sell their various products according to how they imported the products into the Country.

“Most Nigerians still don’t understand that PMS has been deregulated which means License has been approved for those who met the requirements to import Products into the Country . As it stands, NNPCL is in the business to make profit and such will sell the product according to how they purchase it just like other independent Marketers “.

“Before now, AGO was close to 1,000 naira but today, the price has come down to #700, So , it will also be in the case of fuel. Nigerians should just prepare their minds and fit into the present state of things”.

Alhaji Abdulhamid Saliu however called on the Federal Government to hasten actions on providing subsidy palliatives to reduce the burden of the present realities of high cost of living on the masses.

While he charged Nigerians to be patient with the President Ahmed Tinubu administration as the present pains are sacrifice of better things to happen in the country.
