ANRPM Chairman, Comrade Amedu condemns panic buying of PMS, says , it will cause artificial scarcity

The Edo State Chairman of Association of Nigeria Refineries of Petroleum Marketers, (ANRPM), Comrade A.S.Amedu has condemned panic buying of Petroleum products, says it will lead to artificial scarcity.

In a statement signed by the state Chairman, and made available to newsmen in Benin City, noted that artificial fuel scarcity will increase the pain of the people.

The statement further stressed that some fuel stations are selling at #900 per liter while some are selling at 1,200 which is contributing to the panic buying . .

According to Comrade Amedu who acknowledged the economic environment affecting fuel distribution in the country stressed that Edo People need to stop the panic buying to avoid further price hike and artificial scarcity.

“I want to assure everyone that Edo State chapter of ANRPM,alongside our dedicated and committed task force will work to ensure the transparent ,fair distribution and pricing of Petroleum products. We are going to work closely with relevant stakeholders, including petroleum Marketers, regulatory agencies and security forces to stabilize the situation and prevent further inflation”.

He however added that the taskforce is committed to carry out it’s operations with utmost integrity .

” I urge all stakeholders to cooperate with us as we navigate this challenging period. We would ensure all petroleum products are distributed within Edo State are done in a manner that benefits all residents”.
