As Edo State marks its 34th anniversary since its creation from the old Bendel State on 27 August 1991, Senator Neda Imasuen has joined millions of indigenes in celebrating the journey of resilience, growth and shared identity that has defined the heartbeat of the nation.

Imasuen, in a congratulatory message, said Edo has every reason to celebrate not only the milestones it has achieved in governance, education, commerce, art and technology, but also the enduring values of hard work and hospitality that remain the hallmark of its people.

“Thirty-four years of resilience, progress and shared identity – Edo has a reason to celebrate, not only in strides made in governance, art, commerce, and education, but also for the enduring values of hard work and hospitality that define our people. On behalf of myself, my family, and all who share in the dream of continued progress for Edo State, I say congratulations,” he said.

Reflecting on Edo’s journey, Senator Imasuen praised the State’s exploits in tourism, citing its vibrant cultural heritage, festivals and traditions that have gained global attention. He also lauded Edo’s breakthroughs in agriculture, a sector he described as the backbone of the economy, and commended its transformation into a hub for industrial and technological innovation.

The lawmaker further prayed for continued progress under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo, urging all Edo sons and daughters to remain united in building on the foundation laid by past leaders.

“As we look ahead, let us continue to harness our creativity, strengthen our institutions and explore new frontiers in education, industry and technology. Edo’s best days are still ahead,” Imasuen added.

With its rich heritage and bold strides in development, Edo at 34 stands as a testament to resilience, vision and the collective spirit of its people
