Edo Factional LP Congratulates Abure On FCT High Court Judgment

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abure, is the only God’s anointed National Chairman this country has ever produced. This anointing manifested again recently in Abuja when the leadership tussle within the Labour Party came to an end as the FCT High Court declared the national convention of the party held in Nnewi on March 26, 2024, as valid and in line with the requirements of both the 2022 Electoral Act and the Labour Party’s Constitution.

Agents of the ruling political party in the country had attempted to sow seeds of discord among our members, aiming to weaken the party ahead of the 2027 general election. However, their efforts were thwarted when the court, in its wisdom, dismissed the suit for lack of merit. The court further stated that the Labour Party duly observed the provisions of Sections 82(1), 82(3) and 82(5) of the Electoral Act, 2022,
as well as Articles 7, 13(1), 13(1) (b) (ii), 13(1) (b) (viii) and 13 (1) () (ix) of the party constitution in holding its convention. The resolutions passed are therefore binding on Labour Party members.

This verdict reinforces the supremacy of our party constitution and the need for aggrieved party members to always resort to internal dispute resolution mechanisms as stipulated in the party’s constitution to address their grievances.
