Edo People to participate in 2023 Census Population/House counting in the State, as NPC opens portal for recruitment

The Federal Commissioner of National Population Commission in Edo State, Dr. Tony Aiyejina has assured Edo People that personnel who will conduct the upcoming 2023 Census Population and House counting would be indigenes from the various communities in the state to ensure adequate counting of people.

Hon. Tony Aiyejina who stated this  while briefing newsmen at the conference hall of National Orientation Agency (NOA) conference hall in Benin City pointed out that the Census Population would hold after the 2023 general election.

The Hon. Commissioner also disclosed that the Online E-recruitment Portal for the 2023 Population and Housing Census has been inaugurated by the Chairman of the Commission, Hon Nasir Isa Kwarra. He however urged Edo People to grab the opportunity and apply for the various positions available on the portal.

According to him, the Commission has promised to be fair, transparent in the process  that would turn out the officers that applied for the positons. He said  the positions to apply for are Facilitators, Training Center Administrators, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Data Quality Manager, Data Quality Assistants, Supervisors and Enumerators.

He further stressed that the Commission is taking its time to ensure that the recruitment exercise produces quality personnel that has the capacity to conduct  a successful Census and would therefore not compromise the process.

Speaking also , the Director of National Population Commission, Mr. Ayodele Ockis noted that the commission have resolved that the people in their particular vicinities would participate in the counting process.

“ let the people count themselves, which means they will filling the details of where they reside, if you are from Ondo and you live in lagos and when you are applying, you apply a different local government from where you reside, the system will turn you down. The system is geo fence,” he said.
