The National coordinator of Collective Action Movement for Democratic and Environmental Issues, ( CAMDEVS), Ambassador Emmanuel Akuba has tasked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , the Nigeria Police Force on Credible, transparent and peaceful election at the Saturday scheduled election in Edo State.
Ambassador Emmanuel appealed to INEC to resist corrupt politicians who would always want to manipulate the election process and stick strictly on the electoral procedures.
He emphasized that the security of voters and everyone participating in the electoral process is very crucial ànd as such security operatives should not compromise the safety of the people for personal gains.
Ambassador Emmanuel stated this while addressing Newsmen in Benin City ahead of Saturday 21st election.
He noted that as an organization promoting democratic values, it becomes necessary to appeal to all stakeholders to adhere to electoral provision and ensure Edo election is credible and peaceful.
Speaking further, he charged Edo People to come out and exercise their constitutional rights by voting the Candidate they believe will transform their lives to a better one in another four years.
“For our democracy to advance beyond where we are, we as Citizens must be ready to contribute to the process by ensuring we do the very little things that matter “.
“Where we are today is as a result of what we did yesterday, so for us to get it right, everybody in their different capacities must do what is right. I am enjoining all Edo Voters to vote without receiving money from politicians, that is the only way, you can have a Governor that will be accountable to you “. He said.
