In a bid to enhance educational opportunities for girls in Edo State, the Ministry of Education has joined forces with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as part of its “Protect the Girl Child Initiative.” This collaboration focuses on providing essential educational materials, such as school bags and necessary learning tools, to empower female students throughout the region.
Mrs. Mercy Babawale, the State Director of the NDDC, commended Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, the Honourable Commissioner of Education, for his unwavering commitment to improving educational standards and infrastructure in the state since assuming office. She acknowledged the ministry’s continuous efforts to enhance the overall educational experience in Edo. Babawale reaffirmed that, under Chief Samuel Ogbuku’s leadership, the NDDC is devoted to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners and contributing to the development of the Niger Delta region.
Mrs. Mercy put it that the voices of empowered girls will echo into the future, reminding us all of the immense potential one hold when investing in education
During his address, Dr. Paddy Iyamu conveyed his appreciation to the NDDC’s Managing Director and the state executive council for their backing of this commendable initiative. He underscored the significance of providing Edo children with the necessary resources to develop into capable leaders in the future.
