Edo State Vigilante Group Clampdown, Tortured to Stupor alleged Gay Couples

It  was a mini-drama yesterday  when  two young men, Edobor Osarobo and Peter Ebagua were dragged naked out of their hiding place close to Santana market square in Sapele road, Benin City by Vigilante group for their alleged involvement in gay practice .

The  Etete Community Youth Leader, Mr Osahon Osarodion who told our correspondent that the group was alerted  of the immoral, nefarious and ungodly act of the duo by one Itohan Edebiri who claimed to be a friend of Peter Ebagua (one of the suspects) said the Vigilante stormed the hiding place where the ungodly act was taking place. The duo were caught, humiliated and dragged before the Etete Enogie’s palace in Sapele road Benin City, Edo State for a communal or traditional sanctions.

It was further gathered that the apartment where the two suspects was arrested is owned by one of the suspects (Edobor Osarobo) who was also on the watchlist of the local community vigilante group. Our correspondent gathered that upon being
caught red-handed, the community residents were alerted and the suspects were lynched and physically mobbed by seemingly angry mob.

While further scooping for news, the Crusaders Voice gathered that cases of homosexuals, gays and lesbianism have become so prevalent in Edo State and its environs and that the majority of the indigenes frown at same for being anti-social and against the belief and custom of the people.

it was also gathered that Peter Ebagua (one of the suspects) is an unrepentant gay who has been caught previously and also disgraced around the welfare road axis in Benin city. It was gathered that the said Peter Ebagua has been arrested by the police in a bisexual related offence sometimes in May, 2020, against their community

The enraged Etete Community Vigilattee group members claimed that gay practice or any other similar practice is barbaric and unacceptable to them or any other Nigerian society.

According to Osahon Osarodion who claimed that the unnatural practice is against their natural belief and as such must not be practiced anywhere around thier community threaten that Peter Ebagua and his partner have been alleged to have publicly display affection in the open and have been practicing the act consistently until luck ran out of them.

He threaten that they must be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to other youths who may be practicing the act but had not been caught

The alleged gay  persons  Peter Ebagua and his partner Edobor Osarobo who were physically assaulted admitted being gay and attest to the fact that they have  been into it for a long time now to the knowledge of most of their family members who though condemned same.

The duo also claimed that the choice of the apartment which is in a very remote lone place in Benin City is designed to seek refuge as they have previously been lynched by some irate youths in the Upper Sokponba road few months ago.

Our correspondent  further gathered that the condemnation of gay practice in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria has nothing to do with ethnicity or tribe  as most religions’ faiths in Nigeria, infact, consider it  ‘sinful’ and ‘abnormal’,

An eye witness who pleaded anonymity, said he knows  Peter Ebagua and his partner Edobor Osarobo as a notorious homosexual guys in the area and that most people in the neighborhood do avoid having anything to do with them for fear of not being tagged as a member also.

He stated further that it was only recently he started hearing that they display public affection, noting the fact that their community abolished such act longtime ago.

As at the time of filling this report, the Etete community elders has since invited the police to come and rescue the duo of Peter Ebagua and Edobor Osaro from the hands of the vigilante who were bent on serving the duo with jungle justice which could lead to their death.
