The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has further strengthened ties with the sports media practitioners in the state, putting smiles on the faces of members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Edo State Chapter, with a surprise Christmas package.
In the spirit of the yuletide season, the Sports Commission boss sent bags of rice and gallons of groundnut oil to sports journalists in Edo State as part of his support and show of love for the sports journalists.
Hon. Enabulele said the initiative was a token of appreciation for the dedication, professionalism, and consistent support sports writers have shown in promoting sports development in Edo State and the country.
He described sports journalists as critical stakeholders in the growth of the sector, noting that their objective and timely reportage has continued to shape public perception and enhance the visibility of sporting activities in the state.
According to him, the Edo State Sports Commission under his leadership places premium value on partnership with the media, stressing that sustainable sports development cannot be achieved without credible and supportive sports journalism.
Responding on behalf of the association, Chairman of SWAN Edo State Chapter, Comrade Kehinde Osagiede, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Enabulele for the thoughtful gesture.
Comrade Osagiede commended the Sports Commission Chairman for his pragmatic leadership style and unwavering commitment to the advancement of sports and sports journalism in Edo State.
He noted that the Christmas package would significantly ease the burden of the festive season for members and reaffirmed SWAN’s resolve to continue promoting sports development through responsible and ethical journalism.
The SWAN chairman further assured the Commission of the association’s continued partnership in projecting Edo State’s sports programmes positively, while wishing Hon. Enabulele, the management, and staff of the Edo State Sports Commission a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
