The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists , Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe has been conferred an Ambassadorial Award by SaFFER Africa ,World Safety Organisation in Lagos.
Speaking during the 2023 SaFFER Investiture / Summit ceremony in Lagos , the Country Director , Ambassador Soji Olalokun said the organization is presently operative in 100 Countries with the sole aim to promote and advocate for safety of individuals and their environment.
Extolling the exceptional qualities of Comrade Festus Alenkhe , Amb. Soji noted that his immense contributions towards Safety of lives of persons through his activities in Red Cross organization and Journalism have attracted both Local and International commendations which should be emulated by all.
Speaking further, he charges Comrade Festus to sustain the advocacy of promoting Safety, Healthy living and healthy environment in the country and beyond .
In a similar development, Comrade Festus Alenkhe was also inducted into the institute of Fellow Global Safety organization.
Delivering his goodwill message , Comrade Festus Alenkhe pointed out how extravagant life style of certain individuals has attracted criminals to their lives.
He stressed that to remain safe and secured, Individuals should be mindful of their life style and ensure all necessary safety measures are adhered by all in their work place and residential buildings respectively.
The award winning Chairman of NUJ , Comrade Festus further advised that Citizens should be moderate in their life style to avoid criminals keeping tab on their activities, adding that safety is a collaborative effort of all irrespective of class or status.
The Investiture ceremony which was well attended by dignitaries from the International space and across the Country had the Mayor of London Borough of Lambeth 2022/2023 Pauline Akhere George, Friends and Family members of Festus Alenkhe in attendance .
While speaking during the event, Mayor Pauline emphasised that the awardee, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, has been relentless in his unequalled commitment towards safety and security matters especially as it affects lives in Nigeria.
She charged Festus Alenkhe to maintain the tempo he has attained and ensure he conquer more grounds in Nigeria and beyond.
Good will messages from the Director General, National Youth Service Corps, yashau Dogara Ahmed, FEMA, Nigeria Port Authority, Federal Roads Safety Commission, amongst others emphasised the role of individuals and organisations in the prevention of disaster in emergency situations.
The event also featured panel of discussion anchored by an official of SaFFER Africa , with other panelists from Safety securityorganizations in Lagos.
High point of the event was the official presentation of the Ambassadorial award to Comrade Festus Alenkhe as well as inducted as Fellow Global Safety Institute.
