Hon Elizabeth Ativie remain our Candidate for Uhumnwonde/Orionmwon federal constituency as published by INEC

The leadership of Edo State Labour Party led by Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi has officially disclosed  that Hon. Ativie Elizabeth is the candidate of Labour party for Uhumnwonde/Orionmwon Federal Constitutency.

Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi disclosed this while briefing Newsmen in the state Secretariat of the party in Benin City.

He said following the unfounded circulation of report against Hon. Elizabeth Ativie Candidacy by Ms. Blessing Agho on social media, the state executive council of the party deemed it appropriate to make their position known to Edo People.

According to him, the party has upheld Hon Ativie as their candidate for Uhumnwonde/Orionmwon federal constituency as published by Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

He condemned the publication associating the person of the national chairman, barrister Abure Julius to a decision the party collectively took as they prepare for Election ahead of 2023 general election.

“The national chairman has nurtured Labour Party along with other patriotic leaders over the last three decades without blemishes. He is a complete gentle man and very transparent. He is disciplined and fair, his competence in dealing with public affairs is unequalled “. He said.

He furthered emphasized that the chairman did not collect money from anybody and challenged anyone with proof of collecting the money to make it public.

” It is the view of the party that all these unfounded reports are ochestrated by the opposition parties with the determination to stain the current enviable heights our party have attained.

” That the state executive seriously reprimand some of our local functionaries who on this matter placed themselves negatively in public view, they did went beyond their constitutional boundaries and this will not be tolerated in the future.” He said 

Speaking further, a human right activist and a chieftain in labour party Dr.  Patrick Eholor described the controversy as a family challenge which has been resolved amicably.

According to Chief Patrick Eholor who believes that Labour Party is trending today because of the position of the party on equal justice, fairness and transparency called on Ms. Agho Blessing to come out with proof of how the 30million was collected or discontinue the story.

” We have an integrity to protect as we commence campaign ahead of the 2023 general election” he said.

The state Publicity Secretary , Mr. Sam. Uroupa further added that the party is fully ready to engage in issues based campaign and not in character defamation of politicians.

He however charged Edo Youths to get ready for their ten million Man match on Saturday.
