In a significant stride toward improving community welfare and security, the Obi Nwaokocha Okeze Foundation has commenced its December Empowerment Programme with the first phase of solar streetlight installations across strategic locations in Igbuzo.
This development follows the inauguration of a dedicated and credible committee set up by the Foundation to oversee all empowerment activities slated for the festive season.
After a series of deliberations, the committee approved a comprehensive list of streets and zones to benefit from the first batch of solar installations. The selected areas include:
1. Umuafene
2. Odanta by Uwolo Street
3. PG Street by Umuodafe
4. Presidio Street by Ezukwu opposite Happy Home
5. Achalla
6. Nkpanyala
7. Winners Road by Bypass
8. St. Thomas Catholic Church down to Alamuzo House
9. Umuogbele beside Holy Cross
10. Jordan Street by Bypass
11. Umuehea Bypass by NNPC down to Apostle Blessing Onwuachi Foundation
12. Back of St. Thomas Catholic Church to Umuozoma
13. Nkata
14. Otu Farm Road
15. Itego to Winners
16. Kossy Street by Umueze close to St. Thomas College
17. Ogboli by Nwaebuni
18. Newly constructed road by Bypass near the pharmaceutical company
19. Umuwor
20. Odogwu Igbuzo to Anihe
21. Umuozoma Bypass
22. Bishop Klary Street
According to the committee, installation work will officially commence on Monday, with the hope that all approved locations will be fully illuminated before Christmas.
Residents have already begun expressing appreciation for this gesture, noting that improved visibility will enhance security, support nighttime activities, and beautify the community ahead of the festive period.
The Foundation, led by Pastor Idowu Okeze in honour of Obi Nwaokocha Okeze, has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to the development and upliftment of Igbuzo. This latest project is one of many interventions targeted at improving quality of life for residents and strengthening community infrastructure.
As the December Empowerment Programme gathers momentum, the town acknowledges and celebrates the unwavering dedication of Pastor Idowu Okeze and the Obi Nwaokocha Okeze Foundation.
