The Executive Chairman of Ovia south west Local Government Area Engr Edosa Enomwoghomwenma on Friday 10th May, inaugurated the environmental health volunteer scheme in the local government.
Addressing the people during the inauguration, the council boss emphasized that maintaining cleanliness within our local government is paramount in fostering societal change and development. This initiative according to him, underscores the collective responsibility to uphold environmental standards, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of our community.
In his words, Today marked a significant milestone in our Local Government Administrative Headquarters, Iguobazuwa, as Religious Leaders, Security Agencies, Staff, Executive Council Members, and Stakeholders gathered for the inauguration of the Ovia South-west Environmental Health Volunteers’ Scheme.
Amidst a backdrop of anticipation and commitment, the workers will be equipped with essential gadgets and equipment vital for executing their duties as Environmental Health Workers.
The ceremony proceeded a one day training workshop earlier organized in the secretariat hall during which the volunteers were trained with the requiste knowledge that will enable them carryout this assignment without fail.
Speaking earlier the chairperson of the volunteer scheme,Eson Blessing notes that the initiative was aimed at keeping Ovia clean and reposition it among clean local government headquarters in the state. She thanked the council boss for listening to the voice of the people and providing dividends of democracy to them in different dimension.
The inauguration symbolizes a proactive step towards fostering a healthier and more sustainable environment, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and dedication among all stakeholders involved.
