The Executive Chairman of Ovia South-West Local Government Area, Engr. Edosa Enowoghomwenma had again lend his voice to the advocacy for community advancement through skills acquisition. The chairman made the call in his office during a courtesy visit on him by the Acting Managing Director of Edojobs Mrs. Eribo Itohan Anita.
Addressing the visitors, Engr Edosa mentioned that a hub for skill acquisition programs aimed at empowering youth and women with valuable vocational skills, Computer-Based Test (CBT) center for examinations such as JAMB and other computer-based assessments in the local government area is at 90% completion stage. He noted that when the construction is completed, the hub will create an opportunity for Ovia sons and daughters to leverage on as it relates to skills acquisitions which will advance their livelihood.
While reaffirming his administrations commitment to fostering sustainable partnerships that drive socio-economic development at the grassroots level the Local government boss noted that the wheels of collaboration between the council and Edojobs will pave way for transformative change and prosperity in the local government area.
On her part, the Acting Managing Director, Mrs. Eribo Itohan Anita, expressed gratitude to the Council boss for his administration’s collaboration with Edojobs in various agricultural and manpower training and empowerment initiatives.
She posits that further collaboration will help to advance the course of manpower development in Ovia that will In-turn drive the socio-economic activities of the local government to an enviable height.
While eulogising the Chairman’s laudable achievement in his 6th month in office, Mrs. Eribo Itohan Anita expressed admiration for the progress made on the Skill Acquisition Center and affirmed that when fully completed, Ovia southwest will be a destination for skills acquisition owing to the potential impact of such facility in the local community.
