In fulfilment of his campaign promises, the Executive Chairman Ovia Southwest Local Government Araea, Engr. Edosa Enowoghomwenma had presented mini grinding machines to women from across the 10 wards in the local council.
The presentation of the machines which is in partnership with N-Care according to the chairman, is another way of empowering the women in the locality to enhance their livelihood.
While addressing the beneficiaries, the council boss noted that a comprehensive ground assessment was conducted to meticulously identify these women, ensuring that the provision of mini grinding machines would significantly enhance their business endeavours. He maintained that the thoughtful approach reflects his administrations commitment to impactful interventions that directly address the needs of the community.
The Executive Chairman also used the opportunity to announce an upcoming initiative aimed at further supporting local businesses. The initiative tagged “Our Market Money” scheme, affectionately known as “Igho’Eki Oduwa,” will provide financial assistance to market women across the Ovia South-west Local Government. This initiative he said underscores the administrations resolve to fostering economic growth and stability by empowering grassroots entrepreneurs.
Engr Edosa further maintained that through initiatives like these, the local government council will continue to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to driving positive change and promoting economic prosperity within the community. In his words, “by empowering women entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need to succeed, we are laying the foundation for a more inclusive and resilient local economy”. He therefore urged Ovia women to continuously show support for the Obaseki led State government which is giving all the needed support for the local council to do exploits.
