As part of its sustainability policy in advancing the course of education among its host communities of operations, Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited (RENL) has renovated and commissioned a block of three (3) classrooms and donated 84 pairs of customized school chairs and tables in Ilusin Grammar School, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The ceremony which took place on Thursday 28th September in Ilusin saw the Managing Director, Olivier Oduokou Addressing dignitaries at the commissioning, he noted that this investment is a contribution of RENL to the education of children and youth in Ilusin, one of the company’s host communities.
Mr. Olivier recalled that this gesture comes in addition to the scholarship given by his company every year to host communities, including Ilusin.
He urged the students and Management of the school to make good use of the facility and guard it jealously so it will serve the purpose it is meant for.
Speaking further, he thanked the Management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited for the gesture, the Principal of the Grammar School Mr. Ijaola, who was full of excitement, noted that the gesture is one that will spur the students to learn.
He also stressed that an investment in education is securing a better future for not only the benefiting individuals but for the country at large.
The principal further assured that the facility will be put into effective use so that it will help train viable youths that will become society leaders in the future.
Professor Segun Awonusi, the leader of the Regency Council, thanked the MD and management team of RENL for coming to revitalize the block of 3 classrooms, and donating tables and chairs, at a time when the school is in dire need of a convenient place to study.
This gesture, he said, will go a long way to affirming RENL’s commitment to advancing educational pursuit for their wards.
Professor Segun Awonusi further expressed the community’s gratitude to management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited for their continuous effort in developing the community.
