Riverine Peace Initiative in Niger Delta Congratulates Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over Victory at the Supreme Court

The Riverine Peace Initiative in Niger Delta has applauded the Supreme Court for their impartial Judgment delivered on the Delta State governorship tussle which saw Governor Sheriff Oborevwori retaining his seat as the number one citizen of Delta State.

Congratulating Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his recent judicial victory, the President of the peace initiative body, Comrade Mulade Toluwa described the Supreme Court Judgment as a sign of hope to Nigerians, stressing that the Governor having won 38 cases from pre election to post election up to the Supreme Court is Victory well deserved.

The country apex court recently dismissed the appeals filed by the All Progressive Congress (APC) Guber candidate ,ASP Omo Agege, Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Elder Ken Pela of the Labour Party(LP) challenging the electoral victory of Gov.Oborevwori.

According to the statement which was signed and made available to newsmen in Warri, described the Supreme Court Judgment as a ray of hope for the future of democracy in Nigeria.

” We members of Riverine Peace Initiative in Niger Delta can not help but celebrate our Amiable Governor for this well deserved victory.
We are glad that the Supreme Court has reaffirmed the voice of the People of Delta State that you were the one we voted for and we are proud of you because you have remain unmoved and steadfast on the cause that you believed in.

The statement further added that it’s time for the Governor to face the business of governance and make life more beautiful for the Deltans.
