Usenu- Irrua, Illeh, Ukhun, Akho-Irrua residents laud Governor Okpebholo landmark road construction

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo’s drive to provide motorable roads across the State is speedily being realized as the three Senatorial Districts are already enjoying the benefit of his promise as he marks 100 days in office.

A media tour on the failed Benin, Ekpoma Auchi road from Obadan junction to Uromi , Utako ,Uwesan , Uromi, Ibhiolulu and others revealed that contractors are working on the marching order of the Governor to fill up failed portions and construct new roads where necessary.

Findings revealed that commercial and private drivers can now drive with ease on the road compared to when motorists sleep on the road for days before arriving their destinations.

Massive earth and drainage construction are currently going on at Uromi, Onewa, Utako, Uwessan-udomi, Ibhiolulu, and Ujabholo road with opening access to areas where people have lost hope of motorable roads.

Expressing their excitement, some residents at Uromi, Esan South East LGA, who spoke with the Crusaders Voice described the ongoing construction as the best thing that has happened to Edo Central in the history of the area.

According to some of the residents , the area has been marginalized by previous administration but with the coming of Okpebholo as Governor, he has been able to record significant achievement within his 100days in office, as he said things are changing gradually with roads that could not be accessed before being opened up.

He stressed that people who used to lived there have deserted the area due to incessant flooding but with the drainage and road being constructed, some of them have started coming back to their houses while those who have lands are planning to develop them.

Another resident of Usenu-Irrua-Illeh-Ukhun who spoke to the Crusaders Voice News commended Governor Okpebholo for remembering Edo Central in his developmental agenda.

“I am excited that these roads are being constructed now because we have suffered so much from the bad state of the road but today our hope is brought back to life seeing that the roads are under speedy construction.”

Speaking with Journalists the coordinating contractor on site , Engineer Ozi Agbonzee, said the contracting firm will delivered the job within the scheduled time, as they were mobilized to ensure smooth and speedy construction.

“We on our part, we are assuring the governor of speedy completion of this project, of course, we will not disappoint him in our handling of the projects and we are ready to deliver as planned”.
