The Chief Medical Director of University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu has bagged the Exceptional Medical Administrator of the year Award.
The honour which was presented during the celebration of the international Women’s Day organized by the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in collaboration with other Sister Agencies was held at the Edo State Government House in recognition of her contributions to healthcare and her role as an inspiration to women in the state.
During the ceremony, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, presented Professor Ize-Iyamu with the Exceptional Medical Administrator of the Year award.
The commissioner lauded Professor Ize-Iyamu as a successful career woman and a role model for girls and young women, highlighting her achievements in healthcare administration.
The Commissioner emphasized Professor Ize-Iyamu’s outstanding leadership, dedication, and exceptional contributions to effective healthcare administration. Her commitment to excellence, innovation, and quality service were also recognized as key factors in her success and positive impact on the community.
While extolling Professor Ize-Iyamu, the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Edo State, said,

Your commitment to excellence, innovation, and quality service has significantly strengthened healthcare delivery and improved the lives of many. Your professionalism and vision continue to set a remarkable standard in medical administration. “
The 2026 International Women’s Day Celebration has the theme, “Rights, Justice. Action for all women and girls. “
