Edo NUJ Condoles with Family Of Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Management Of DAAR Communication Over The Passing Away Of A Media Icon

The Nigeria Union of Journalist,Edo State Council has condole with the family of Dokpesi, management of Africa Independent Television on the passing away of the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of DAAR Communication, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

In a statement personally signed by the Chairman of the Edo State Council of the NUJ, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, the union described the death of Chief Dokpesi as a great loss to the Media industry.

The union further noted that he has contributed immensely to the Labour Market where thousands of Journalists are in his pay role across Africa and Nigeria majorly.

“Dokpesi left behind a great legacy in the media world, as the first independent broadcast station covering Radio and Television, he has helped to deepen democracy in Nigeria and also encourage independent practitioners in the media world. Today, our democracy had greatly improved due to robust discussion and dissemination of information by these independent stations “.

The statement particularly urged Journalists in Edo State to pray for the repose of the Soul of the departed High Chief, Raymond Dokpesi and however urged the family to take solace in the fact that their father lived a purposeful worthy life full of emulation.
