Musuem Of WEST Africa Art,Edo To Serve As Research Center, To Attract Investors,Job Creation, Other Mind Blowing Benefits To Edo People

The Director of Museum for WEST Africa Art, Edo , Ms Ore Disu has said that the World Class Art gallery when completed would be a home for Scholars , artisans and museum practitioners in Africa.

Speaking during a three day program with the Theme: “Open Day Forum” held in the Pavilion in Benin City, Ms Ore Disu noted that Museum for WEST Africa Art Edo will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Africa rich heritage thrive in contemporary Arts scene.

According to her the construction of the Pavilion would be completed mid next year, 2024. And be unveiled as a place for learning, nurturing creative talents amongst the Youths in Edo State and beyond.

” This open day is a platform to foster a deeper understanding of the importance of archeology in preserving our critical legacy and share some of our exciting new discoveries”

“We are excited to get more cultural practitioners and residents in touch with the Pavilion ‘ s work, which is already proving to be a dynamic space for research, education, and community outreach”

She noted that the aim of the program is to create the awareness of the survival of Artifacts in Africa and produce a gateway between the sophistication of the past lives of Africans and the dynamism of possible future.,

Also speaking , Mr. Ihenacho Philip said the Museum will serve as a hub for Arts Education and the creative industries to foster contemporary African Inspired art and culture for artists and artisans .

“The Pavilion will be a center to assemble a cross section of exemplary African Art and objects, including the World most comprehensive collection of WEST Africa Antiquities, displaying them in their historic and social contexts and deepening scholarly understanding and public appreciation of their place in global culture”.

“To inspire, and serve as a model for responsible heritage management with best practices in collection, conservation, restoration and museum building globally”.

Speaking also, the senior Archeological Adviser, Prof. Adebayo Folorunsho added that with the caliber of organizations like NCMM, British Museum, Leventus Foundation , University of Oxford School of Archeology and Deutsche Archaeological Institute partnering with the Museum For West Africa Art, Edo , the Pavillion would be a World Class in the history of Africa.
