As the All Progressive Congress (APC) holds it’s Congresses across the Country, the Edo State chapter of the APC has re elected the State Working Committee (SWC) , returning them unopposed.
The Congress which was held in Benin City had all the delegates unanimously endorsed an automatic ticket for President Ahmed Tinubu and Adams Oshoimhole*s re-election bid..
The State Party Chairman, Chief Emperor Jarret Tenebe who disclosed this in his address said the exemption is for President Ahmed Tinubu and Adams Oshoimhole alone while other Aspirants should commence their campaign ahead of Party primaries.
He expressed appreciation to all the delegates for finding him and his Executive worthy of re- electing.
He specially thanked the governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo for his fatherly and leadership prowess that ensured there was no crisis at the Congress.
“The Okpebholo administration inherited a severely challenged system of governance characterized by policy inconsistency and structural deficit.despite all of this, the governor through pragmatic and people oriented leadership, the administration was able to reverse the trend’
“The infrastructural development, particularly road construction and rehabilitation remains the shining piller of Governor Okpebholo SHINE Agenda.”
He stressed further,that to consolidate the good work of the governor, the need for Unity, Cohesion and inclusivity within the party remains paramount.
“As we consolidate our gains and prepare for future electoral engagement. It is evident that while our party continues to grow stronger, opposition remains entangled in internal crisis that undermine their effectiveness.”
He congratulated his Exvo members and reminded them that their re-election is a call to service.
Speaking earlier, the Congress Committee Chairman, Hon. Ajana Kabiru expressed satisfaction in the conduct of the Congress,
He said Edo Delegates has spoken in one voice to return their State Executive Elected.
“Me and my Committee members did not get any protest letter from any member of the party, and as such we proceeded with the election.that brought the Executive back”
“Edo is APC and one big family. So we remain that way “
Adams Oshoimhole who could not suppress his joy for endorsement of automatic Senatorial ticket, commended the governor humble but dogged composure in handling Party issues.
He described the Governor infrastructural drive as unprecedented , tong the path way of President Ahmed Tinubu in infrastructural drive.
He also thanked the State Party Chairman Emperor Tenebe for his doggedness and effective leadership that defied opposition and make the Party a formidable force.
He expressed confidence that his second term will lead the party to all round victory.
Speaking further, he described the lamentations of the opposition as mere noise citing that they are all aggrieved members who left APC because they were unable to grab power.
He called on Nigerians not to trust them but to support and vote President Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
The Congress which was well attended by APC chieftains had Governor Monday Okpebholo, his deputy, ,Dennis past deputy Governors, Senators, and ministries in attendance.
