Bishop Gordon Osagiede Jr. Condoles with NUJ Chairman, Festus Alenkhe over Mother’s demise 

The General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church – Bishop Gordon Osagiede Jr., has  condole with the family of Festus Alenkhe over Mother’s demise.

Bishop Gordon Osagiede Jr. who was represented by the Director General of the church, Pastor Joseph Martins stated this while welcoming members of Federated Chapel who were in his church office at Giwamu , Benin City.

He described Festus Alenkhe as a household name who has put in so much in the journalism profession and wished the family well as they prepare for the burial ceremony of her mother.

“We like to condole with the NUJ Chairman –  Comrade Festus Alenkhe over the demise of his mother. We pray God to grant him and his siblings the fortitude to bear the loss ” He said.

He however prayed that as they prepare the burial ceremony of late Mrs Rose Akuogbe Alenkhe, the family will have a successful celebration.

Speaking further, he lauded  Edo Journalists over their selfless service and immense contribution to the development of Edo State. 

He said the journalism profession is an altruistic selfless and devine service to humanity and more professional journalists are needed in the country at this challenging time to speak truth to those in leadership positions.

“We know the risks and the dangers journalists are exposed to on a daily basis. It’s your selflessness that has kept you in the profession. May the protection of God continue to be your cover” he said.

“You are the voice of the voiceless. We need journalists in our nation that will stand the gap and speak the voice of the people, and that is what you are already doing. We are grateful to have you here”.

He however prayed that Federated Chapel would grow to the point,it will become a force to reckon with in the  state.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Federated Chapel – Comrade Mercy Onyenweli, recalled the life and times of the founder of the church, Late Apostle Eunice OSAGIDE Gordon’s who was part of the spiritual force that preached the Gospel of salvation to Edo Women.

The Federated Chapel boss noted that her life was an inspiration to many young women who draw courage from her disposition to life.

She further said that she achieved so much but yet was very humble and always smiling.

“She was a mentor, meek, and known both within and outside Nigeria for her gospel of evangelism.

She however prayed that her Soul will continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord.

“However, we take solace in the fact that she nurtured and raised a champion that took over from her. She was indeed a mother and a repairer of broken homes.

“Federated Chapel will continue to provide adequate media coverage for the major activities of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church”, she said.
