Edo 2024: Amb. Martin Ihoeghian declares interest, says under his watch, budgets will be subject to town hall meeting

The New entrant into the Edo state Governorship race Prof. Amb. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi has promised that if voted into power as Governor of the State , the annual budgetary allocation will be tabled before the stakeholders at the LGAs level before presenting it before the State House of Assembly.

 

The Ewatto born Dr. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi disclosed this at a press briefing in Benin where he formally disclosed his intention to vie for the Edo 2024 Governorship seat on the platform of People’s Democratic, party (PDP).

According to Dr Martins , who gave a details about his background at the Internationally and local level said his Ambassadorial positions and having other vital positions held at the United Nations , African Union gave him the requisite exposure to have what it takes to govern Edo State.

“You can not give what you don’t have, if you put a buffoon in power, what you get is buffoonery but when thinkers are elected into power , you see the narrative changing positively , impacting the wellbeing of the People,”

Dr Martin stressed further that Nigeria is blessed with natural and human resources but has failed to elect their best to power , rather they keep recycling corrupt and Men who do not has the integrity and character to lead their people.

 

“It is possible for Edo State to become a role model in the comity of States in Nigeria, remember, is not how much money you have that define you but the content of your brain and character. I have the global contact to make Edo the destination of investment.

Speaking on tackling insecurity in the State, Dr. Martin noted that his experience in managing the crisis in Dafur Sudan, will help him to draw out measures to tackle the insecurity in the State.

He assured Edo People that if they make the right choice by nominating him and also voting him in the Governorship race, they should know that the narrative will change for good.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists ,Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe who welcomed him and his entourage to the secretariat said the Union is apolitical and would ensure that stories without any form bias are encouraged.

Festus Alenkhe commended Dr Martin’s profile also noted that Edo State deserve the best hand to build on and even surpass what former Governors have done in the State.
