Edo Governorship Election: NUJ Chairman, Alenkhe Enjoins All Practicing Journalists To Adhere Strictly To Ethics Of Journalism

The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) , Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe has enjoined Journalists in the State to adhere strictly to the ethics of Journalism Profession ahead of September 21st Governorship election in Edo State.

Comrade Alenkhe made this known in a Statement he signed and made available to Newsmen in Benin.

He advised all practicing Journalists to remain apolitical and report only campaign promises and statement made by Politicians.

” As Campaign embargo is about to be lifted , I humbly advise all practicing Journalists in Edo State to remain apolitical”.

“Don’t allow yourself to be used by Politicians, report their campaign promises and statement only, that is why is called “Campaign” Stay away from reports that are defamatory and slanderous in nature”

He further addded that no practicing Journalists should share posters of Political Parties on any Media platforms.
