Ovia Southwest Boss Engr Edosa Enowoghomwenma graces CYON Special Mass, reaffirmed commitment to Youth empowerment through skills acquisition.

The executive Chairman of Ovia Southwest Local government area, Engr Edosa Enowoghomwenma had again reaffirmed its administrations commitment to youth empowerment through skills acquisition.

The council boss stated this while delivery a goodwill message during a special mass in St Teresa Catholic Church Benin City as part of activities to mark the official launching of the proposed CYON Skills acquisition centre.

In his remark, the chairman challenges the youths to be more proactive rather than being reactive in their day-to-day activities. He stated that today’s world is driven by artificial intelligence and this can only be achieve through skills acquisition.

The Chairman noted that the initiative of having a skill acquisition centre by the catholic youths is a welcome development and maintained that as a focused driven administration that had the intertest of the youths at heart, his administration will continue to partner with them and other relevant agencies of government in ensuring that youths are adequately empowered through skills acquisition and other form of human capital development.

As a former CYON President, it was a nostalgic and fulfilling experience to be part of this milestone. I was delighted to make a meaningful contribution to the project, giving back to my alma mater and the Catholic Church, which has played a significant role in my personal and political journey.

While expressing gratitude to the CYON for the invitation, he acknowledged the importance of skill acquisition in shaping the future of our youth. The mentioned that proposed center will undoubtedly provide a platform for young people to develop their talents, become self-sufficient, and contribute positively to their communities.

He commended the Archdiocese of Benin, His Grace Obiora Akubeze for his vision and dedication to the welfare of youths and encourage others to support this noble cause.
