BENIN CITY – In a bid to create more awareness on the activities of the Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS) at the grassroots, the Management of the Agency is set to embark on a Sensitisation tour of Edo North and Edo Central areas.

Recall that in March 2025, the Managing Director of EDOGIS, Dr Tony Ikpasaja, desirous of extending the services of the Agency to the grassroots, opened two new offices; one in Auchi (Edo North) and the other in Ekpoma (Edo Central).

The sensitisation tour for Ekpoma will kick off on Monday, July 28th 2025 and end on 29th July while Auchi enlightenment programme which will take place in the Town Hall at the Council Secretariat holds on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Other activities will include road shows, engagements with property owners, students, traditional rulers, businessmen and women as well as Artisans.

The focus of the event will be to enlighten residents on the imperative of paying Land Use Charge (LUC), the need for them to register their properties with the State Government through EDOGIS and the necessary steps to take in processing a Certificate of Occupancy (CofO).

It will also shed light on the dangers of encroaching on Government layouts, land grabbing and other ancillary services that could help to guarantee the safety and security of land assets.

EDOGIS is the official Agency of the Edo State Government primarily saddled with the responsibility to process, register, grant and procure all Land Titles including Certificate of Occupancy (CofO), Right of Occupancy, Customary titles and grant of Consent in land transaction as required by Law.
