The National Chairman of Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure has appealed to Edo People to remain resolute and confident of a better Edo is Possible with Labour Party ahead of the 2024 Governorship election.
Barrister Julius who decried the process and the outcome of the just concluded Local Government election stated this in a press briefing after holding a close door meeting with State Executive Council, (SEC) Support groups, Chairmen and Secretaries of Labour Party LGAs and Party Leaders in the Labour Party Secretariat in Benin City.
He stressed that the need to come around and cheer up members and supporters of Labour Party became necessary after the outrageous denial by EDSIEC in the past Local Government election where Labour Party Candidates were rigged out by the machineries of the State Government.
He further availed the opportunity to clear the rumours making round that Labour Party is factionalized, According to Barrister Abure , there are no faction in the State as all legal crisis the Party had suffered from dissidents amongst them has been resolved and reaffirmed that he is the authentic National Chairman of Labour Party.
“As we speak, the Country and even the States lacks adequate leadership and Labour Party is poised to provide leadership with human face for Edo People that is why we are strategizing ahead of the Primaries to ensure the process is credible enough to produce a Candidate who can win Election and also lead the Edo People in a way they will all be carried along.”
Speaking further he disclosed that he is moving round the three Senatorial Districts holding meetings with them, resolving all internal issues and ensuring they are all on the same page before the Primary Election.
“In keeping up with my promise of spending two weeks in Abuja and two weeks in Edo State as we prepare for our Governorship election, I am here , I have already paid visit to Edo Central ,Edo North and am here in Edo South to encourage our support groups and party leaders to know that we all need to remain resolute and understand that every step we are taking now leads us to a promise land.”
He however expressed gratitude to one of the Governorship Aspirant, Dorry Afe Efosa who donated a sienna Car to the Party State Secretariat and called on all other Aspirants to join hands in building the party to make it a formidable force in the State.
Present at the event were the State Party Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi , The Vice Chairman ,The State Secretary, Mr, Akhere, the Publicity Secretary, Sam Uropea, the Woman Leader and other State Executive members , including LGA Chairmen, Secretaries, Leaders of Support groups and Party Leaders.
