The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has congratulated Bendel Insurance Football Club on their thrilling 3–2 away victory over the defending champions in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, describing the result as a bold statement of intent.
In a statement issued by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele said the win was far more than just three points, noting that overcoming the reigning champions on their home turf underscores the team’s courage, discipline, tactical intelligence, and growing ambition.
He praised the players for their fearless start to the encounter, highlighting the early goals by Wisdom Udom in the 14th minute and Chinedu Nwosu in the 28th minute as clear proof of Bendel Insurance’s attacking mindset.
Hon. Enabulele also noted that the sustained pressure applied by the team paid off with an own goal in the 37th minute, following a long throw by Henry Oyian, which further tilted the game in their favour.
The Sports Commission boss commended the technical crew, led by Coach Kennedy Boboye, for their effective game plan, while applauding the players’ commitment, mental strength, and unity throughout the high-intensity clash. According to him, such victories are the result of hard work, discipline, and consistency, both on and off the pitch.
