The Nigeria Police Force has commended Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South senatorial district, for his intervention in strengthening security operations in the area.
The praise followed the lawmaker’s repair of the Ugbor Divisional Police Hilux van by providing a brand-new engine, a move that has now restored the patrol vehicle to active service. According to the Police, the development has enhanced officers’ capacity to tackle crime across Ugbor, Amagba and adjoining communities in Benin City.
In a formal letter of appreciation dated 9 September 2025 and signed by CSP Austine Idemudia, Divisional Police Officer of Ugbor Division, the force expressed its gratitude to Senator Imasuen for the timely support.
“On behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, Ugbor Divisional Headquarters, G.R.A Benin City, Edo State Command, I wish to heartily thank you and express our deep gratitude for your kind gesture in repairing the Divisional Police Hilux Van by putting a new engine,” the letter read.
“With this, we are happy to inform you that we can now effectively carry out our core mandate of preventing crime and criminality in the entire Ugbor, Amagba and other communities within our jurisdiction and beyond. We appreciate you, your family and the entire member of your constituency.”
The letter further conveyed the warm regards of the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, to the senator, while also expressing hope for continued collaboration.
Senator Imasuen, who has been vocal about improving security architecture in Edo South, said the gesture was part of his commitment to ensure safer communities, stressing that security agencies must be adequately equipped to deliver on their constitutional mandate.
