Rural Women Empowerment: Erhenhi Assures Emodu-Ogunmwenyin Women of Medical Screening, Grants, Mentorship

The National Coordinator of the Rural Women Mobilization Empowerment Scheme, Anita Erhenhi-Ukunkpolo, has assured women of Emodu-Ogunmwenyin community of the organization’s commitment to providing medical screening, financial grants, and mentorship programmes aimed at improving their livelihoods.

Comrade Erhenhi-Ukunkpolo gave the assurance while addressing women during a town hall meeting held in Emodu community.

She shared her experiences as a grassroots journalist, noting that her direct engagement with rural women exposed her to the daily struggles they face in meeting life’s demands.

According to her, these observations inspired her to leverage her network and resources to initiate empowerment programmes targeted at supporting women at the grassroots level.

She reaffirmed her dedication to ensuring that women in the community benefit from these initiatives, stressing that she would do everything within her capacity to see them empowered and self-reliant.

In their responses, the women appealed to her to use her influence to attract government attention to critical needs in the community, including the construction of access roads, establishment of a healthcare centre, and provision of a functional market to ease economic activities and address emergencies.

They also expressed gratitude for her visit and concern, offering prayers for her continued success in achieving her goals.
