The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Senator Neda Imasuen, has joined millions across the globe to celebrate World Teachers’ Day 2025, hailing Nigerian teachers as the bedrock of national development and vowing to continue championing education reforms that prioritise their welfare and the learning environment.
In a personally signed message, Senator Imasuen lauded teachers as “the true architects of society whose impact transcends classrooms and whose influence shapes generations.”
He said:
“Today, we celebrate our teachers — the true builders of human capacity and moral excellence. Their passion, resilience, and commitment to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow deserve our highest respect and recognition.”
The Edo South lawmaker stressed that quality education remains the most important investment for the future of the country, adding that teachers must not only be celebrated in words but supported through concrete action.
“As a legislator, I will continue to push for policies that guarantee better welfare for teachers, improved school infrastructure, and accessible education for all children in Edo South and Nigeria at large,” Senator Imasuen declared.
He emphasised that his constituency projects and legislative agenda will continue to reflect his firm belief in education as the foundation of sustainable growth, human capital development, and national unity.
“Teachers are the unsung heroes of our society. Celebrating them today means recommitting ourselves to building a system that values their work, rewards their sacrifice, and secures the future of our children,” he added.
As the world marks this year’s Teachers’ Day, Senator Imasuen urged governments at all levels to treat education as a national priority, noting that “every naira invested in teachers is a direct investment in the nation’s destiny.”
