Ekuku-Agbor Community Bids Farewell to Maccaulings Ogana

Family members, friends, and well-wishers of Mr. Maccaulings Ogana gathered on Friday, March 13, to pay their final respects as he was laid to rest in his hometown.

The burial ceremony, which took place at the family compound of the late Maccaulings Ogana in Ekuku-Agbor, attracted mourners from different parts of the community and beyond who came to honour his life, legacy, and passing.

Ministering at the burial service was Pastor Isiwekpeni Jude, who offered solemn prayers for the deceased and admonished those in attendance to give their lives to Christ.

He also encouraged the children of the deceased to sustain their father’s legacy of hard work and dedication.

In her tribute, the younger sister of the deceased, Mrs. Helen Onyenweli, described her brother as a hardworking man who always ensured that his children lacked nothing good.

She also expressed appreciation to everyone who supported the family during the period of mourning and prayed that God would bless them abundantly.

The eldest daughter, Dr. Joy Ogana, also remarked that her late father was the best dad anyone could wish for.

“Our father lived a life of service and integrity. Though we mourn his passing, we take comfort in the memories he left behind,” she said.

Neighbours and community leaders also spoke about his impact on the community, noting that he was widely known for his dedication to farming and his willingness to help others.

The high point of the ceremony was the final interment, marking the end of a solemn yet dignified farewell as loved ones committed him to mother earth.

Life and Times of Mr. Maccaulings Friday Orogodo Ogana*_

Mr. Maccaulings Friday Orogodo Ogana was born in 1954 into the family of the late Mr. Benson Unkama Ogana and Mrs. Roseline Nwasiwe Ogana in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

He hailed from the renowned royal family of Ogbe-Umudein Quarters in Agbor Obi, Delta State.

His parents were agrarians who later migrated from Agbor Obi to Ekuku-Agbor, where he attended his primary school education.

After completing his primary education, he proceeded to St. Charles College, Abavo, for his secondary education. He later attended the College of Science and Technology in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where he obtained a degree in Accounting.

He also furthered his education at the University of Calabar, graduating from the Department of Banking and Finance.

Mr. Ogana was a hardworking man whose life was defined by integrity, accountability, and dedication to family and community.

He is survived by his children: Dr. Joy Ogana, Ms. Nkechi Ogana, Mr.Benjamin Ogana, Ms. Antonia Azuka Ogana, Mr. Bob Ogana, Nwanbiye Ogana, Solomon Ogana, and Moses Ogana, as well as his wife, siblings, and many relatives.
