The Obi Okeze Widows Foundation today gathered in a solemn yet joyful thanksgiving mass at St Thomas Catholic Church to express profound gratitude to God for the gift of life, their children, and the unwavering support of their benefactor, Pastor Idowu Okeze.
The event, which drew members of the foundation and well-wishers from across Igbuzo and beyond, was marked by heartfelt prayers, hymns of praise, and emotional testimonies. The widows, united in faith and purpose, used the occasion to reflect on their journeys and the transformative impact the foundation has had on their lives.
In a collective message, the women expressed deep appreciation to Pastor Idowu Okeze, fondly referred to as “Upkechukwu Munyali Igbuzo,” for his compassion and generosity. They described him as a true destiny helper whose consistent support has brought hope, stability, and renewed dignity to many widows within the community.
According to members of the foundation, his interventions have not only alleviated financial burdens but have also restored confidence and a sense of belonging among widows who once faced hardship and neglect.
Speaking during the service, representatives of the group offered prayers for their benefactor, asking God to bless and strengthen him for his continued commitment to humanitarian service. They also prayed for the growth of the foundation and for more individuals to emulate such acts of kindness.
The thanksgiving mass served as both a spiritual upliftment and a celebration of community, underscoring the importance of compassion, unity, and support for vulnerable groups.
As the service concluded, the atmosphere remained one of gratitude and hope, with the widows reaffirming their commitment to faith and mutual support, inspired by the generosity that continues to shape their lives.
