Our attention has been drawn to a purported “Letter of Withdrawal” allegedly issued by Osagie Ize-Iyamu announcing his withdrawal from the 2027 Edo South Senatorial race.

“We categorically state that the said letter is false, misleading, and a poorly doctored document. It is a recycled version of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s 2024 withdrawal letter from the Edo State governorship race, when he voluntarily stepped down in support of the current Governor, Monday Okpebholo, in the overall interest of party unity and equity.

The attempt to manipulate that 2024 letter by altering its context and presenting it as a 2027 senatorial withdrawal is mischievous, deceptive, and intended to create confusion within the political space.
For the avoidance of doubt:

“Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has not withdrawn from the 2027 Edo South Senatorial race. He remains fully engaged in consultations across the district.”

He is committed to participating in a free, fair, and credible primary process under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

We urge party members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the fabricated document and rely only on official communications issued through verified channels.

This act of political misinformation will not deter the resolve to continue engaging stakeholders and strengthening the democratic process. It only highlights the strength and rising support of his candidacy, which evidently unsettles some interests
