BENIN CITY – The Edo State Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Observatory Team on the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL), in partnership with CLEEN Foundation, has concluded plans to embark on a sensitization campaign for traders, drivers and other members of the public on the use of the Iyobor App tomorrow , 5th,of June, as part of efforts to enhance access to justice and promote accountability.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ workshop in Benin City, the Benin Project Officer of CLEEN Foundation, Blessing Eromon, emphasized the importance of knowledge transfer, collaboration and active community engagement in achieving the objectives of the project.
She noted that the sensitization campaign would deepen public awareness of the Iyobor App and encourage citizens to utilize the platform to report concerns and access justice-related information.
Eromon urged participants to work together, share ideas and remain committed to ensuring the success of the project, stressing that sustained dialogue and cooperation are critical to strengthening institutions and empowering communities.
Representing the Commissioner of Police, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Eno Nkereuwen, commended CLEEN Foundation for creating awareness on complaint mechanisms, particularly in cases of gender-based violence and other related issues.
She noted that the Commissioner of Police has zero tolerance for corruption and expressed optimism that the Iyobor App would improve transparency, accountability and service delivery within the policing system.
Nkereuwen further assured participants of the Edo State Police Command’s readiness to collaborate with the NGO in achieving its vision and objectives in the state.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the CSO Observatory on ACJL,
Dr. Bright Onoviokou, commended members of the team for their dedication and contributions to previous engagements.
He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to successfully execute the project despite the limited timeframe available.
“Even though we have just six weeks to complete this phase of the project, I am confident that the team is capable of accomplishing the task successfully,” he said.
The workshop featured interactive sessions aimed at developing strategies for the forthcoming public sensitization campaign targeted at traders, transport operators and other stakeholders across Edo State.
The high point of the event was the celebration of the birthday of the Chairman of the CSO Observatory Team, Dr. Bright Onoviokou, as participants lauded his leadership and commitment to advancing justice sector reforms and civic engagement in the state.
