BENIN CITY – The Edo State Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Observatory Group on the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) in Edo State, in partnership with CLEEN Foundation, will on June 5 commence a sensitization campaign for traders, drivers and other residents on the use of the Iyobor App to promote access to justice and accountability.

The project is supported by the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC II) Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA).

Speaking at the stakeholders’ meeting in Benin City, CLEEN Foundation’s Benin Project Officer, Blessing Eromon, said the campaign is aimed at increasing public awareness of the Iyobor App and encouraging citizens to use the platform to report concerns and access justice-related information.

She stressed the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing and community engagement in achieving the project’s objectives, noting that sustained dialogue is vital to strengthening institutions and empowering citizens.

Representing the Commissioner of Police, the Police Public Relations Officer, ,ASP Eno Ikoedem Police PRO Edo State Command commended CLEEN Foundation for promoting awareness of complaint mechanisms, particularly in addressing gender-based violence and related issues.
She reiterated the police command’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption and expressed confidence that the Iyobor App would enhance transparency, accountability and service delivery within the policing system.
Nkereuwen also assured participants of the Edo State Police Command’s commitment to partnering with the organisation in advancing its objectives.
Chairman of the CSO Observatory on ACJL, Dr. Bright Oniovokukor praised members of the team for their dedication and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver the project within the six-week implementation period.
The workshop featured strategy sessions ahead of the public awareness campaign targeting traders, transport operators and other stakeholders across Edo State.
Members of the CSO Observatory also marked the birthday celebration of Dr. Onoviokou, commending his leadership and commitment to justice sector reforms and civic engagement.
