The President of Ijaw Nation ,BJ Braie has been conferred the Ozuzu of Olodiama Clan by His Royal Majesty, Pere Godwin Oguoyibo, the Alagbabunafa lll, in Benin City, in recognition of his kind works .
Responding to a Press interview, Chief Braie who is currently the President of the Boys Brigade Nigeria, Edo State Council, said “I have been a man with many parts. I stand for the overall peace for the Ijaw People.
“When the Federal Government Amnesty program started, I had several meetings with the security agencies and the then governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. We strategized for peace without collecting a dime from anyone. But today, I am seeing the value for every effort I made and every money I spent then.
“If there’s peace in Edo State, there will be joy in the people’s heart”, he said.
Speaking about his leadership prowess, the Boys Brigade Boss said, “a good leader makes sacrifices for his followers. No good leader should impose himself on the people.
“When something good comes to the table, a good leader allows the people first.
“I am the President of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, Edo State. I have used my position to ensure peaceful coexistence within the Ijaws in Edo State and beyond. So this title given to me by the Pere of Olodiama is a call for more service.
“In 2011, I was honoured with an award of excellence by the National Union of Ijaw Students Worldwide for my positive contributions towards education. I have registered a lot of our children for JAMB, WAEC, NECO and I have helped a lot of them secure admission into various tertiary institutions. Not only that, I also check on the students to know what they are doing and how they are performing in school. Many students have been rusticated from schools and they are still collecting school fees from their parents, but their parents won’t know. So, I took it upon myself to be a parent to them”, he added.
Chief BJ Braie is an Insurance expert, Insurance consultant who uses his opportunity to organise an annual event on Insurance. The annual event has been generating gurus in the Insurance sector.
Chief Braie is rewarded with a chieftaincy title as the OZUZU of Olodiama Clan. The title of Ozuzu is given to one who is seen as a great motivator, a unifier, a peacemaker and an inspirer.
