The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe has expressed gratitude to the Governor of Edo State,His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki for the approval of Coastal Bus and Wifi connection at the NUJ Secretariat in Benin City.

Comrade Festus Alenkhe disclosed this while reacting to the Governor’s approval of a Coastal bus and wifi connection for practicing Journalists in the State.

The Chairman who noted that with the approval of the Coastal bus and wifi connection for Journalists, will boost the work out put of reporters .

“I definitely believe your Excellency sir, that with this approval, the morale of Journalists has been boosted to fully partner with the State government to consolidate on the achievement recorded so far in the state”.

“Sir, you will be pleased to know that since the Ossiomo electricity was installed for over two years now, Journalists are performing better because there is electricity supply on a daily basis. Infact, we are grateful sir”.

He further commended the Governor for being the first Governor in Nigeria to brake the jinx in power sector with the 24 hours Ossiomo electricity, installing of street light , regular payment of salary of civil servants.

Comrade Festus added that the Governor will be remembered in the history of Edo State for notable infrastructural development he had put in place for generation to come.

Earlier, the Governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki commended the Festus Alenkhe led Executive for transforming the facilities in the Secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists.

“Chairman, I am proud of your service to the union, you are not using the position to enrich yourself, rather you are working for the betterment of all members of the union”.

Governor Godwin Obaseki who sat down with Media practitioners at the NUJ bar ordered for assorted drinks and food as each member of the union wine and dine with the Governor for the first time.

Shortly after chilling with Journalists, the Governor, Godwin Obaseki with his entourage and Executive of NUJ took a stroll on the facilities at the Secretariat including the new fence erected by Festus Alenkhe and his team recently.
