Former Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Pius Odubu, has commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, describing him as a humble, reliable and dependable leader whose unwavering faithfulness to God and loyalty to friends will continue to propel him to greater heights.
Odubu gave the commendation on Wednesday during his birthday thanksgiving service held at his residence in Benin City, where Governor Okpebholo joined family members, political associates and other dignitaries to celebrate with him.
The thanksgiving service was officiated by Rev. Fr. Andrew Ihonda Ovielonba of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Aruogba Community.
Speaking during the ceremony, Odubu expressed profound appreciation to Governor Okpebholo for honouring him with his presence and paid glowing tribute to the governor’s character and leadership qualities.
“I say you are the epitome of humility — humble, reliable and a dependable friend. I don’t know how best to describe you. Since I came to know you, you have proven to be faithful to God and faithful to your friends. It is a virtue that will take you higher than where you are today,” Odubu said.
Governor Okpebholo attended the thanksgiving service alongside the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa;b the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku; members of the Edo State House of Assembly; the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarrett Tenebe, who led other party leaders; former deputy governors; former lawmakers; and other prominent personalities.
The governor’s presence at the event reflected the cordial relationship he enjoys with political leaders and stakeholders across the state, as guests joined Odubu and his family in giving thanks to God for another year of life, service and blessings.
