The Riverine Peace Initiative in Niger Delta, (RPIND) has congratulated Rt. (Hon) Sheriff Oborevwori on his swearing in as Governor of Delta State.
This was contained in a Press Release signed by the President, Comrade Toluwa Mulade and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Peter German añd made available to Journalists in Asaba, Delta state.
The Peace group charged the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), DSP Omo Agege , Socal Democratic Party Candidate,Kenneth Gbagi , Pela Kenneth of Labour Party to join hands with His Excellency, Sheriff Oborevwori to intensify the development of Delta State.
According to the statement, Delta State is the heartbeat of the nation and should be known for high display and respect for Democratic values.
” Election has come and gone, a winner has emerge and has been inaugurated, as democrats, all Deltans must put their best to ensure this Sherrif Oborevwori led administration succeed in all ramifications”.
He called on His Excellency, Sheriff Oborevwori to carry both the past leaders in the state along in his administration to ensure adequate implementation of people oriented projects across the three Senatorial Districts .
The Statement added that the Riverine Peace Initiative in Niger Delta is ready to work for the peaceful coexistence of all Deltans.
Our amiable Governor, Sherrif Oborevwori, we promise to support you to succeed as long as you put in the necessary policy thrusts that will make the state better for growth and development.”
With the wealth of experience of the governor over the years, we call on Deltans to give him total support without doubts in their minds because Oborevwori’s administration will build on consolidate, growth, investment and economic reforms and making the youths centre piece of his policies and programme.
Also, we advise the governor to consider so many factors in making appointments, the right People should be appointed to their areas of specializations to enable adequate contribution in all sectors of the state .
The governor should not allow his aides to determine the relationship that exists between his government and the people to avoid relegating his achievements in different local governments to the background.
“We counsel you that your brilliant experience should not be eclipsed by greed and quest for selfish and personal aggrendizement of greedy and anti democratic People who may be around you for their selfish interest because your emergence was a major pointer that politics today is tilting towards the people. It is also a pointer that when the right people are Chosen to fly the party’s flag, winning becomes seamless.”
