Senator Neda Imasuen representing Edo South Senatorial district has lauded two ambassadorial nominees for their distinguished careers and unwavering commitment to Nigeria, describing them as “exceptional professionals” poised to strengthen the nation’s foreign policy direction.
The Senator, who received Ambassador Segun Wasa and Dr. Adeyemi Adebayo in his office on Monday, said their nomination by the President reflected a deliberate effort to position Nigeria more strategically on the global stage.
Ambassador Wasa, an accomplished envoy and proud son of Edo State, most recently served as Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires in Paris. Known for his deep engagement with European institutions and his steady leadership style, he has earned a reputation as a seasoned diplomat capable of advancing Nigeria’s interests across major international platforms.
Dr. Adebayo, from Ekiti State, has equally distinguished himself in the service. With extensive experience across Asia, including a notable tenure as Nigeria’s Consul General in Hong Kong, he is widely regarded as a diplomat with sharp strategic insight and strong global perspective.
Senator Imasuen commended both nominees for their exemplary records, personal integrity, and dedication to national service. He expressed confidence that they would excel during their screening and eventually bring honour to the country in their new assignments.
“Nigeria is sending some of its finest diplomatic minds into the international arena,” the Senator said, adding that their wealth of experience would be invaluable as the country navigates an increasingly complex world.
